► TOYS FOR TOTS 2007—Beginning in 1947 from the conviction of just a single person, the Marine Corps has developed one our nation's signature traditions for sharing goodwill during the holiday season. There’s never been a greater need than now. Today America has over 14 million economically disadvantaged kids, but together we can make a difference!
How Can You Help?
(1) Donate A Toy—From November 26th through December 22nd, bring new, unwrapped toys to the donation bin at Boger Dental. Toys are especially needed for kids in the 0-2 and 10-14 age groups, preferably in the $10 or above price range.
(2) Write A Check—100% of the monetary donations will be used to purchase toys for local kids. And we're walking our talk…each member of the Boger Team has individually pledged a donation.
Kids…Don’t Miss The Surprise Guest! On Saturday, December 5th tune in to KARE-11 to see the Boger Team and a SPECIAL GUEST presenting our collective donation and 100 cool, new musical toothbrushes!
► THE GREAT CANDY TRADE-IN 2007—Thanks to the generosity of our patients and folks from the community, our first year for the event was a sweet success! Kids and families from throughout the area came through the doors all morning to bring in a total of 211 pounds of candy. The goodies will be distributed a piece or two at a time with a toothbrush as an extraordinary treat on upcoming Smile Network mission trips. In addition, the Boger Foundation donated $5 for each pound of candy brought in for a total of $1,055…enough to provide for two surgeries for kids in need. The winner of the iPod drawing was actually a classroom from Coon Rapids Middle School. Together they collected 35 pounds of candy! Fantastic…thanks everyone for your help!
► SMILE NETWORK INTERNATIONAL SELELCTED AS 2007 FEATURED CHARITY —Support raised in 2007 will be donated again to Smile Network International. SNI is a Minnesota-based, humanitarian organization that provides life altering, reconstructive surgeries and related healthcare services to impoverished children and young adults in developing countries. To date, more than $22,000 has been raised for SNI which will provide for at least 44 surgeries! For more information about the Smile Network International and their honorable mission, please visit www.smilenetwork.org.
► SMILES FOR LIFE UPDATE—Thank you again to everyone who participated in our third-annual Smiles for Life Campaign with the prestigious Crown Council Association. Supplies were generously donated by Discus Dental. Together we have raised over $60,000, which ranks us in the top fundraising Crown Council dental offices in the nation. This is a true testament to the generosity of Boger Dental patients year after year. Funds are divided each year between the Garth Brooks Foundation and the Boger Foundation fund which are in turn donated to the Smile Network International.
► TWIN CITIES HOST FOR 5th ANNUAL GIVE BACK A SMILE—In honor of February being Dental Health Month, the Boger Dental team volunteered as hosts for the Minnesota American Dental Association’s “Give Back A Smile” program, a two-day, statewide event on February 2-3, 2007. Sharing the noble mission of doing what we can to make quality care accessible to every child in Minnesota, Boger Dental opened its doors as a provider of no-cost dental services to children from low-income families, pre-screened by the ADA. Last year, volunteers in 206 locations across the state gave $1.4 million worth of free dental care to children. For more information, contact www.mndental.org.
► ANNUAL DENTAL MISSION TRIP—Members of the Boger Dental team are preparing to travel again to Mamayes, Puerto Rico to set up clinic and offer no-cost dental services to the community. Watch for more information.
